Betty Jean (Prewitt) Farris

Betty J. Farris, 87, of Boonville passed away unexpectedly on October 11, 2018 surrounded by family at Boone Hospital Center.

Celebration of life gathering will from 2:00 - 4:00 pm, Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Markland-Yager Funeral Home, 3855 Highway 5 North, New Franklin. 

Betty was born July 21, 1931, in Boonville to Harry Ray and Opal Oswald Prewitt and they preceded her in death.  She was a 1949 graduate of Bunceton High School.  On December 16, 1951, she married Donald L. Farris in Boonville and he survives.  She served as Church Secretary for the Evangelical United Church of Christ in Boonville for 25 years.  Her passion was gardening but she also enjoyed cooking and raising chickens.  

She is survived by her three children, Gary L. Farris (Carolyn) and Danny W. Farris (Susan) all of Boonville, and Donna J. Farris of Columbia; sister, Opal L. Farris of Boonville; two step grandchildren, Daniel Viertel and Brian Viertel (Candace) and three step great grandchildren, Cole, Kayleigh and Belle; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by three siblings, Harry Prewitt, Dorothy Farris and Gladys Anderson.
