Jeffery Lynn Meissert, 60, of Columbia passed away peacefully in his sleep on May 2, 2019.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Woodhaven’s Billy J. Palmer building, 1405 Hathman Place, Columbia, Mo on June 1, 2019 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. A private family interment will be held at East Lawn Memorial Cemetery, Mexico, Mo.
Jeff was born in Mexico, Mo and was a resident of Woodhaven in Columbia for the last 53 years. He was employed at the University of Missouri cafeteria system a number of years through ACT of Columbia, Mo. Jeff was an avid University of Missouri fan and loved all Mizzou sports. Jeff enjoyed many different activities at Woodhaven including the Handbell Choir and Special Olympics. His last days were spent surrounded by his family and many friends from Woodhaven and the Columbia area.
Jeff was preceded in death by his father and mother, Joe and Jane Meissert and brother, John Meissert, all formerly of Mexico, MO. He is survived by three sisters and one brother. Joyce Dallam, Kunkletown, Pa., James and Sherry Meissert, Camdenton, Mo., Jolene Meissert, Henderson, NV., Jerene Meissert and Michael Robey, Alameda, CA. Jeff is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews: Johnny and Gina Meissert, Auxvasse, Mo., Kim Test, Mexico, Mo., Aaron Omer, Arroyo Grande, CA, Eli Omer, Kunkletown, PA., Renee’ and Michael Dyer, Camdenton, MO, Joe Meissert, Marshfield,Mo, Anni Hochhalter, Washington DC, Elise Hochhalter, San Francisco, CA., Kate Meissert and Jason Radburn, Alameda,CA., and Maggie Robey, San Francisco, CA. He was also survived by numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews.
