Virginia "Jenny" Leona (Ferrell) Evans

Virginia Leonia Evans, 85, of Columbia passed away on April 28, 2018 at The Bluffs surrounded by family.

Celebration of Life services will be held at CenterPoint Church, 20 E. Green Meadows Road at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 5, 2018. 

Jenny was born May 14, 1932, in Springfield, Missouri to James and Irma Elkins Ferrell.  Jenny met Bill Evans in 1949 and they were married in 1950 and he preceded her in death in 2000.  Jenny, along with Hazel Storm started “Girl Friday” Alterations which they operated from 1979 until 1995.  She was a homemaker, served joyfully in the church and was a seamstress most of her life.  Jenny was a great teacher and prayer warrior of the word of God.  She encouraged everyone she would meet and prayed for many. She was an active member of United Community Cathedral, Columbia.

She is survived by her children, Nancy Price (John) of Tucson, Arizona, James “Jim” Evans (Elaine) of Newburg, Florida, Karen Black (Steve) of Columbia, Marla Storm (Dan) of Fulton and Carl Evans (Beckie) of Columbia; ten grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, nine great great grandchildren; two siblings, Alan Ferrell and Mary Henry; three nephews and three nieces.
