Edward Lamont Lutz, Sr., 65, of Marshall passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at Boone Health after a long battle with cancer.
Edward was born November 12, 1955, in Evansville, Indiana, the son of Howard and Mary Thompson Lutz, who preceded him in death. Edward was a 1974 graduate of Huntsville High School and then joined the Army National Guard for three years before he joined the Army for four years. He was serving in Honolulu, Hawaii when he met and married Elizabeth Richard on July 3, 1981, and she survives. He was known as a “jack of all trades, master of none”. Over the course of his life, he had many jobs that he enjoyed, fireman, licensed manicurist, truck driver, prison guard, locksmith and, lastly as a welder. He had many passions in life like doing artwork in all medias, learning survival techniques and sharing them with friends and family.
He is also survived by three children, Edward Lutz, Jr. and Jeremy Lutz, both of Moberly and Jennifer Alyse Lutz of Marshall: six siblings, Frank Lutz (Judy) of the state of Delaware, Rhonda Schumann (Charles) of Moberly, Connie Lutz of Moberly, Randy Lutz of Boonsboro, Jeff Lutz (Rita) of Centralia and David Lutz (Marjorie) of Moberly and one grandson, Antony Howard Lutz of Marshall and many nieces and nephews.
Edward is also preceded in death by a daughter, Jessica Ann Lutz; and two siblings, Beverly and Jane; and niece and nephew, Lucy Wilson and Chris James.
He was known and loved by many and will be sorely missed but never forgotten and is finally at peace.
