Kenneth Wayne Deakins

Kenneth Wayne Deakins, 78, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2023, at his home surrounded by his loving family. 

Kenneth was born in 1944, in Fort Sill, Oklahoma, to the late John and Phyllis (Sailor) Deakins.  He attended Oklahoma University and graduated from Truman State with a degree in Criminal Justice.  After serving in the Army during Vietnam, he served his community as a police officer with the Columbia Police Department and retired after a long career there.

Kenneth is survived by his wife, Jo Deakins; son, Tony Deakins (Susan); daughter, Stacey Deakins (Nathan McLane); and five grandchildren, Jake, Ryan, Josie, Emmi, and Kylie.

A private graveside service with military honors is planned later.
