Michael Boyd Eby

Michael B. Eby, 75, of Columbia, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 11, 2020.  

Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at Missouri Veterans Cemetery – Jacksonville with military honors.

Mike was born November 28, 1944 in Wichita, Kansas, the son of Floyd and Francis Johnson Eby, who preceded him in death.  On November 24, 2001, he married Carol Swarthout Whitmarsh and she survives.   Mike proudly served his country in the Navy during the Vietnam era from 1965 - 1967 where he achieved the rank of Engineman Petty Officer 2nd Class.  Mike was an automotive technician for most of his career. He enjoyed building and driving race cars and loved to tinker in the garage. He was an avid deer hunter and also enjoyed his time at the lake, model trains and watching motorsports.   He attended Parkade Baptist Church.

Mike is also survived by his daughters, Nicole Eby and Ginger Eby; brother, Roger Eby; step-children, Melissa Corley (John) and Mark Whitmarsh (Sheila); grandchildren, Aden Isbell and Michael Greg Davenport; step-grandchildren, Jessica Miller(Josh), Lauren Corley, Matthew Whitmarsh and Benjamin Whitmarsh.

He was also preceded in death by his sister, Mitzi Dentler.
